Monday was a day of service for students from 11 different Portland-area colleges who gathered at Concordia University to hear Martin Luther King Jr.'s I Have a Dream speech and then left for a day of work out in the community.

In small groups, students spent the day painting, cleaning and doing other volunteer work inspired by King's words from 1968 "everybody can be great because everybody can serve."
